About Us Agricultural extension is integral for social advancement through enviable individual, group and community practices. The department of Agricultural Extension in the university came in to existence in 1987. The P.G. Programme leading to M.Sc.(Agri.) in Agricultural Extension degree has been started from 1991 and Ph.D. Programme in Agricultural Extension has been initiated in 2005. This department serves the need of the agricultural fraternity for social component of development by imparting teaching at UG, PG and PhD level. Till today more than 30 scholars obtained PhD degree and 240 were awarded post graduate degree in agricultural extension from university main campus at Raipur.
Our History
Our Mission Our fundamental mission is to draw upon our disciplinary expertise to address contemporary and emerging societal interests and needs in agriculture through creation and knowledge extension in the field of applied social sciences in agriculture through national and internationally recognized education, research and outreach activities. We focus to provide functional and comfortable environment conducive to learning, working and conducting research through stake holder’s perspective. We strive for excellence in teaching by nurturing our students with the skills, knowledge and insights of the subject so as to address the challenges of today’s world through innovative, relevant and scholarly research based knowledge, skill and attitude dedicated to render services to individual, group and communities.
Our Vision We endeavor to be a leading student-centered, research-intensive, committed to providing an innovative educational experiences in agricultural extension by Contributing the society through pursuit of education, learning, research and outreach in applied social sciences in agriculture within and across the disciplines to achieve national and international excellence for sustainability.
We are regularly working to create scholastic environment to serve as a catalyst for stellar interdisciplinary collaboration through the strength of agricultural extension and lead in the areas of allied sciences by dedicating ourselves to maximize opportunities for success of our endeavor. Towards student growth we are committed to the personal, academic and intellectual development of students through close mentoring and classes taught by talented and dedicated academician faculties. At utmost level of satisfaction, our aim is to support students for their resilience, and encourages their growth as budding extensionists. In the field of persuasion of Knowledge, our efforts are directed towards creating intellectuals by indulging tactful individual centered-teaching that inspires for scholarly and creative work using academic freedom and the promotion of a vibrant intellectual community that encourages thoughtful and vigorous exchange of ideas. Observing the inclusivity and equity we provide respectful engagement with a broad diversity of perspectives and experiences essential to academic growth in which all members can engage meaningfully in institutional life and contribute where all thrive. We work for fostering a diverse community of students, staff and faculty dedicated to access, affordability, and ensuring that the benefits of its transformative educational opportunities be available to all.
