Bilaspur is the only wheat research station in Chhattisgarh state located at latitude: 2209'N; longitude; 82012'E with an altitude of 292.3 m MSL comes under central zone. Chhattisgarh plane zone is having short winter with early rise of temperature from last week of January to first week of February, favorable temperature (less than 210C mean temperature) for wheat growing is 8 weeks (2008-09) & 2010-11) to 13 weeks (2007-08) starting from 47 SMW to 7 SMW in different years. Hence the centre is good for screening the wheat varieties for early heat tolerance as well as terminal heat tolerance.

Raj Mohini Devi College of Agriculture and Research Station, Ambikapur was established on 20th September, 2001 as a constituent college of Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur (C.G.). B.Sc (Ag) programme was started in 2001 and M.Sc. (Ag) in Agronomy, Genetics and Plant Breeding and Entomology was started in 2015. Teaching, research and extension activities are the three main objective of this college. The total intake capacity of the college is 110 students through PAT and 21 students through ICAR under the UG B.Sc. (Ag.) degree programme and 12 students in M.Sc (Ag) Agronomy, 8 students in M.Sc (Ag) Entomology and 8 students in M.Sc(Ag) Genetics and plant Breeding. There are three AICRP projects in Maize, Potential crops and Honey bee & pollinators, three AICRP voluntary centers in rice, arid legume and horticulture fruit crops, one Gramin Krishi Mausam Sewa project by IMD and many other projects under PPP mode. The institution was set up in the own building at district headquarter. Within few years the College got sufficiently strengthened to claim parity with any other leading Agricultural Institution in Chhattisgarh. Simultaneous development of the College farm provided field facilities for giving adequate work experience for the B.Sc.(Ag.) course and for conducting researches of M.Sc. (Ag.) students. Much efforts are being given at the undergraduate level to train the students in all the farm operations. 1. Teaching Activities During 2018-19 session, 24 students were admitted in the first batch for a four-year degree programme leading to B.Sc. (Ag.)Hons. degree and their classes were held at the College of Agriculture, Raipur. The College is currently functioning with 16 regular faculties, 1 librarian, 4 Assistant Grades, 3 supporting staffs 1 section officer and 126 students in four batches. Admission to B.Sc. (Ag) Hons. programme is done on merit basis through PAT examination conducted by CG Professional Examination Board, advertised through notification. The minimum eligibility for a candidate to appear in this test is that the candidate must have passed 12th of the 10+2 (Academic) scheme of examination with Agriculture/ Biology/ Mathematics group of the Board of Secondary Education, Chhattisgarh or an Examination declared equivalent to it with prescribed percentage of marks mentioned in the admission notification. Admission on self finance seats is given on the basis of PAT in the constitute college of IGKV. 2. Farm and Research Activities: The 78 acres of land has been fenced and about 50 acres of land is brought under cultivation. Rice, Pigeonpea, Finger millet and Turmeric etc. crops in Kharif and Wheat, Chickpea, Mustard, Coriander are grown in Rabi season and other vegetable crops & fruit crops viz. Apple Ber, Guava has been grown in both seasons successfully. Seed production programme on Wheat, Chickpea, Mustard and Coriander were taken under NSP and Seed certification agencies. Crop Cafetaria in college campus field has also been initiated. Mushroom production unit is also likely to be started soon.
