The College is dedicated to impart quality education to students, research and extension services to farming community as per the University guidance under ICAR norms.
Since its inception, the College is following three main objectives as adopted by the University i.e., teaching, research and extension. College is offering U.G. level teaching of agricultural sciences to the youth of India and more particularly to Chhattisgarh, a State who loves to do agriculture. The teaching is so envisaged to develop specialized manpower in different disciplines of agriculture and allied subjects. Research is also a part of College mandate and provides a different agro-climatic zone i.e. Northern Hills Zone of Chhattisgarh (among three agro-climatic zones prevailing in the State of Chhattisgarh) for varietal evaluation, growing of fruit plants, multi-location trials etc. Extension services are delivered for transfer of technologies to its end-users i.e. farmers/ growers is the main objective of University and so also of the College.
The College research farm is facilitated with 4 ha of cultivable land for student-related practical works and research conducted by scientists. Practical training covers every aspect of crop production program starting from field preparation to end (harvesting, threshing and winnowing) and closely supervised and evaluated by the faculty members. The RAWE/READY students have adequate hands-on training in actual field and factory conditions by visiting several sites e.g., KVK, sugar factory, mushroom culture unit, sericulture unit, nursery raising unit etc. Graduate students are being trained to diagnose most plant disorders which are caused by various biotic (diseases, pests, nematodes, weeds) and biotic stresses (nutritional deficiencies, soil, water and other environmental toxicities, phytotoxicity due to pesticides and fertilizers).
As per the College Time-table, one day in every week is assigned to each class for the practical classes divided into 2 batches - Batch A & B. Practical classes are conducted at College farm and Lohari farm of College (situated approx. 30 Km from College) and students are brought t
