Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bastar of Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur has been working as a knowledge and agricultural technology dissemination centre amongst the tribal farmers since its inception in the Bastar district of Chhattisgarh state. In this context Smt. Suparna Tandon, Chief General Manager, NABARD, Chhattisgarh along with a total of 13 District Development Managers (DDMs) visited the KVK, Bastar on 20th September 2022, as a mandate of NABARD's official activity, to view the working pattern and interacted with the Subject Matter Specialists of KVK. All the team was warmly welcomed by the Er. Rahul Sahu, I/c Senior Scientist & Head, KVK, Bastar. All the demonstration units viz., high-tech poly house, bio-flock fish farming unit, poultry unit, and processing & value addition unit etc. of the KVK, Bastar were visited by the NABARD officials. During this visit, Er. Sahu explained to them about the processing and value addition of minor millet, which is being processed at KVK as a demonstration unit, in order to uplift the livelihood of the tribal farmers. Smt. Tandon was very much impressed by this finished value-added minor millet-based product, and appreciated the quality packaging. She also said that the KVK, Bastar is catering to the farming needs of the farmers, and upgrading the agricultural skills among the farmers. Sh. S. K. Kashyap, Smt. Ritika Samrath, Sh. D. Kerketta, and Sh. L. R. Verma were also present during the visit.
