Honourable Vice chancellor (IGKV) Dr Girish Chandel visited the college of Agricultural and Research station, Mahasamund. The HVC was greeted by the Dean, Dr Anurag and senior professor Dr G S Tomar and other academic faculties. The HVC had a really fruitful discussion with the Dean and other faculties in order to gain an insight into the current functioning and resources of the institute. There was also a brainstorming session held in his esteemed presence with the aim to develop and improve the academic programme based on the current market requirements so that the students will be well equipped with the necessary skills to not only cope, but also excel in the ever growing and advancing field of agriculture. The HVC also suggested some great measures in regards to getting the assistance from district administration by developing new and innovative agricultural projects. He also shared some really innovative and great insights on how to inculcate the practical approach along with theoretical concepts in the academic programmes, which will not only improve the quality of knowledge attained by the students in these programmes but also improve their employment prospects in the current domestic and global agricultural market. During the session Dr GS Tomar also highlighted the achievements of the college since its establishment in the year 2018, in the field of teaching, research, extension and farm activities. Dr Sandeep Bhandarkar, in charge of the academics highlighted the constraints that the students in the college has faced till now such as the accommodation and transportation facilities being unavailable till now. The dean suggested measures on how to improve the current infrastructure and facilities of the college and also requested for the support from the HVC in that regard. The HVC was given a complete tour of the current campus by Dr Naveen Rana and he was made aware regarding the current lab and infrastructure setup and the improvements needed on them. The Dean of the college and other academic faculties were assured by the HVC of his full support in making the college a premier institute in the state. The one day visit was a resounding success and was concluded by the Dean and the staff by thanking the HVC for his gracious presence and words of wisdom. This visit from the HVC will play a great role in the bright future of this new college.
