Honourable Vice-Chancellor of Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalay, Dr. Girish Chandel visited CARS, Bemetara on 28.05.2022. During this visit he inaugurated the newly built Hi-tech plug type nursery under the scheme Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) of National Horticulture Mission (NHM). He also inaugurated the bio-agent production unit and multimedia room of the college and mother orchard (Up gradation and Modernization) of the farm. Director of Research Services Dr. Vivek Tripathi and Director of Farms and Extension Services Dr. P. K. Chandrakar were also present during visit. All the dignitaries visited farm, college and girls’ hostel and took information on the academic and research activities being run by the college. Honourable Vice-Chancellor appreciated the work carried out by the college for the development of the district and said that farmers’ will get high quality and wilt resistant grafted plants of tomato, brinjal and chilli from the plug type nursery. Dr. Vivek Tripathi, Director of Research Services said that the farmers will get low cost and effective bio-agent and bio-fertilizer from the bio-agent production unit. Dr. P. K. Chandrakar, Director of Farms and Extension Services said that high quality plants of mango, guava, ber, dragon fruit, pomegranate, citrus, drumstick etc. will be available to the farmers from mother orchard and they need not to go outside the district for the same. Dr. K. P. Verma, Dean of the college said that multimedia room will be helpful for the teaching activities of the students. All the staff of the college along with Dean were present during the visit programme.
